The Graz-based pianist and composer Florian Pichlbauer began his musical training at the age of six, which eventually led him to the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz. Numerous awards, including first prize at the 2017 Bela Bartok Competition and the “Aims Outstanding Lieder Collaborative Pianist Award” for his achievements as a song accompanist, mark his career.
As a composer, Florian Pichlbauer is represented by the traditional publisher Universal Edition; he has already composed for major theatre productions at venues such as the Théâtre national de la Colline in Paris and the Teatro Grande in Pompeii.
Starting in autumn 2025, Florian Pichlbauer will record a collection of classical salon pieces for solo piano for Supreme Music Group, using his own unique romantic-inspired musical language. These works will be released by Universal Edition at the same time as our digital releases.

Florian Pichlbauer - Valse No.1
Digital Release 26.09.2025
Florian Pichlbauer's latest composition for piano was written in March this year in Paris as part of his musical work at the Théâtre national de la Colline. Nearby is the Père Lachaise Cemetery, where Frédéric Chopin, a composer who has always inspired his work, is buried.
The piece is not intended to be an imitation of the Romantic musical language, but rather to mark the beginning of my own style, carried by harmony, emotion and a sense of musical beauty. I see Valse No. 1 as the starting point of this artistic development, with many compositions to follow!
