After a remarkable debut in Vienna’s Musikverein back in 2023, „The Philharmonic Brass“ released their first album „Overture!“ conducted by Tugan Sokhiev. To meet the highest audiophile standards, Supreme Classics is now re-releasing the first album, „Overture!“ as a Hybrid SACD and digitally in Dolby Atmos. „Overture!“ includes virtuoso arrangements of some of the best-known overtures including Verdi’s La Forza del Destino and Gershwin’s Cuban Overture.

Tugan Sokhiev, fascinated by the ensemble’s signature sound and enthusiasm, accepted without hesitation: “Of course YES, I love brass!”

Florian Pichlbauer's latest composition for piano was written in March this year in Paris as part of his musical work at the Théâtre national de la Colline. Nearby is the Père Lachaise Cemetery, where Frédéric Chopin, a composer who has always inspired his work, is buried.

A concept album featuring masterpieces by Telemann, Marais, Kühnel, Sarró, Marais, Abel, Forqueray, Dowland, Sainte-Colombe, Schumann and Elgar.

The works, ranging from the melancholic depth of Tobias Hume to contemporary soundscapes, open doors to hidden spiritual landscapes. Despite all the shadows, the light remains palpable – and in the end it becomes clear that good is stronger.

The music moves between jazz, pop and classical, carried by an intimate instrumentation of voice, choirs, Wurlitzer, bass flute, flute and percussion. Together with double bassist Lukas Traxel, pianist Jean-Paul Brodbeck and percussionist Ingrid Oberkanins, Pallanch brings his vision to life on stage.

As the title suggests, the new Philharmonix VOL 4 album “Baltic” is dedicated to the music of the Baltic States in a very special way. Sebastian Gürtler was inspired by melodies, folk orphans and children's songs from Latvia and created this cycle of works in his very own intimate, often melancholy and dance-like, but occasionally also hymn-like and singing musical language. 

The catchy ‘Polka from Latgale’ serves as the opening track. It is followed by ‘Midsummer Night's Hymn’, enlivened by dancing rhythms, an ode to joie de vivre, before striking a more contemplative note in ‘Sunset Prayer’. An intimate musical journey through Lauma's emotional world before her wedding, from a sombre requiem for a partridge to a cheerful pop song. At the end, we find ourselves sometimes fragile, sometimes composed, amid the booming sounds of bagpipes in the midst of a funeral procession in honour of a Baltic sailor.
